Even before Doug and Lori McCary finalized their adoption of Rachel, a young girl from China who was born with hypoplastic right heart syndrome, the McCarys found the UF Health Congenital Heart Center and Mark Bleiweis, M.D., and learned they could help give Rachel a chance to live life like never before. Today, Rachel isn’t just waiting until a donor heart becomes available for transplant, she’s living life until her transplant.
